Judinström Brand. Limited Edition version
concept
For the Judinström brewery’s farmhouse ale, Hej! Je m'appelle Olsen, we embraced a design narrative that dives deep into the everyday life of Olsen, a Norwegian everyman. This design tells a personal story of craftsmanship, tradition, and love for the rugged beauty of Norway, perfectly reflecting the brand’s ethos.
challenge
The difficulty was stressing the uniqueness of the Hej! Je m'appelle Olsen limited edition while yet keeping brand continuity and communicating Scandinavian authenticity. To appeal to both traditional and modern viewers, the design blended Norwegian scenery with modern aesthetics with evocative features like the barn inside.
solution
This form of the package transports the observer to Olsen's workshop, where the raw components of life and brewing collide. The design presents a view into his barn, a small space loaded with tools, firewood, and Norwegian pride. Olsen's passion of his country meets the art of beer-making in this place.

The packaging shows a little, practical barn with beautiful natural colors. The environment has a real and lived-in sense thanks in part to elements like stacked firewood, a classic red bulb, and a workbench.
Rising mountains, thick forests, and clear, starry sky, a huge window at the middle of the label opens to a breathtaking perspective of the Norwegian environment. Olsen’s grounded, hardworking life as well as Norway’s infinite beauty are brought together from this twin viewpoint.
While the Judinström logo—which has a strong Viking figure—reinforces the brand’s historical influence, a Norwegian flag hung boldly on the barn wall anchors the design in its cultural roots.
Dominant on the label are greens and browns, which resemble the natural colors of a barn and forest. Highlights of red and blue offer contrast and call attention to important components such the flag and emblem.
Customers are encouraged to investigate the can by the wrap-around design, therefore exposing fresh elements from all directions. From the tools of the profession to the comfortable firewood stack to the outside view, the label provides a narrative experience commensurate with the depth of the beer itself.
project overview
This design creates a coherent package on shelves that distinguishes itself by combining narrative, culture, and workmanship into one another and arouse nostalgia and affection. It is the tale of a diligent man who loved the Norwegian scenery and customs. This is a window into Olsen's world, not only a beer can.
