designing beyond boundaries: exploring the Art of Packaging with SOT B&D

Three of our package design projects have been included in the IdN v27n2: package Design Issue – Packing With a Punch! We are really proud of this! This edition of IdN Magazine is committed to investigating the art and science of packaging design, aggregating the knowledge and ideas of 50 gifted designers from all around the globe.

One of the most active fields of graphic design, packaging design calls for the ideal mix between form and purpose. Beyond the conventional limits of 2D design, as designers we have to produce real-world solutions that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also useful, protective, environmentally sensitive, and pragmatic. This topic delves deeply into these problems and explores important topics including sustainability and the rising relevance of environmentally friendly materials.

Based in Hong Kong, IdN Magazine—which first launched in 1992—has been a forum for promoting worldwide relationships among designers by means of its emphasis on typeography, iconography, motion graphics, web design, and other media. For our staff, being included in a publication this esteemed and powerful is a great privilege.

This awareness for us represents our love of designing packaging that pushes the envelope of design, connects with people, and tells a narrative. It gives us great satisfaction to have our work displayed with so many creative designers in this edition. Examining the whole issue will help you to find innovative ideas on the direction of packaging design and the artistic techniques behind some quite amazing creations. Many thanks to IdN for this chance and for always motivating designers all around!
